A New Job!

Just wanted to update with some news! I (Megan) just got a part time virtual assisting job for a real estate agent that allows me to work from home! It took some computer investment, but once I pay that off in a couple months, we will be able to add that to adoption support money! Praise God for the way that He provides for us in so many unique ways! Not to mention, I was praying for a job that would allow me to work a couple hours a day from home, but to keep our children the priority!

Another update in regards to paperwork for the adoption--we just received the next big packet called the "dossier packet" that we have to put together for the adoption agency and the Ethiopian agency! It is a bit overwhelming, but is starting to feel more and more real as we begin the LONG process of gathering things and filling things out!!

We can't wait to find out who our precious child will be!! Stay tuned…

As of now, here is a list of dates you can be praying about for us:

1. June 28^th- Our Home study will take place. Our social worker will spend the day at our home to interview us
   
2. June 21 and 22- We will have a garage sale at our new place to raise money for the adoption
   
3. In July, although not set yet, we will have a couple desserts to share about the needs for our adoption
   
4. Sometime in August or early September, we will get our paperwork in and patiently wait for a referral of our child or children.

Preparing for the Home-study

We are busy preparing for our home study! Lots to do as well as our moving process into our new home. We close on the home tomorrow! It will be so nice to be settled into our home and hopefully that will allow us to get more of a routine going.

What is a home study? According to the about.com website:

Definition: A detailed look into a prospective adoptive person or family. Includes home visits by social workers, autobiography, and background checks. This is a learning time for both the adoptive family and the social workers. The homestudy process helps both sides determine if the family is ready to adopt.

Our paperwork for the home study will take some time. We have to BOTH write separate autobiographies, lots of background/criminal checks, personality tests, etc. There is alot that goes into this so that the agency and Ethiopia ensures the children are going home to a family that will love them and care for them well.

We are feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the paperwork, but we are taking baby steps towards it.

Thank you all for your continued prayers! Please also pray for the finances to come in for the home-study...the next big amount--$1500.

We are also planning on doing more fundraising after the homestudy. We will be having garage sales, desserts, and any other things we can come up with for fundraising! Any ideas?

As soon as we get settled into our new home, we will take some photos to post for everyone!!!

The Letters Are Out!

We have officially sent our letters out to family and friends regarding the adoption! We eagerly await in prayer and expectation to see what God will do in this area! The finances of adoption are so scary, but we are trusting the Lord if He wants this to happen!

Praise God for those who have already chosen to take part in this venture along with us.
